This course is designed by people within the events sector with the aim of helping candidates develop an understanding surrounding event delivery with the inclusion of specific skills in how to deliver a sustainable working event.
The course covers a variety of topics needed in the work place today through both workshop and practical learning.
Courses will be geared around either an FVSE event, or one that our team are managing on behalf of another organisation. Candidates will spend two days with Stirling Community Enterprise learning key core skills, then a further day with us applying this to events generally, but also with a focus on the specific forthcoming event. Candidates will then have the opportunity to put their learning immediately into action by volunteering at the event. They will be paired with a staff member or experienced volunteer to have the best chance to develop their learning, skills and self confidence. All the while showcasing themselves to potential future employers.
A 30hr training programme surrounding transferrable core skills and digital filming. Delivered over 10 weeks in 10 x 3 hour sessions for groups of up to 10 people.
During the course, candidates will develop soft skills and digital filming experience using the latest digital cameras and iMacs. Candidates will select, produce and create a weekly news item to be published online, and will receive certificates from FVSE on completion of training as well as practical opportunities.
Our trainer will deliver a weekly core skills session plus provide opportunities for digital filming, with candidates deciding on what that week’s digital feature project will be. This could be an event, a topical news story, a live issue in their lives at the time, or something else. They are then supported to work together, each with a role, to pull together the feature and then post it online.
